In order to become a registered provincial Party in the province of Alberta, we must gather 5,769 signatures on a petition from eligible Alberta voters. This petition authorizes the Chief Electoral Officer to register the Separation Party of Alberta.
As required by law, the Chief Electoral Officer of Alberta will carefully scrutinize our petition to become an official party in Alberta. We have received excellent co-operation from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
It is essential that the petition be properly completed.
The Petition Form must be signed in pen: black or blue.
If you make copies of this form, you must photocopy this on 8 ½” x 14” paper. It cannot be reduced to 8 ½ x 11 or it will be rejected by Elections Alberta.
Please mail the each form to the office when it is completed.

Insure that the individual’s full name is printed as clearly as possible.

Complete Address Must Include Postal Code.

Complete Phone Number Including Area Code. Please note when the Government checks the petition they will contact the signer by phone so without area codes they will reject the signature of that petition participant.

In order to sign the petition, the signer must be a Canadian citizen, 18 years of age, an Alberta resident for the last six months and eligible to vote in the next Provincial Election. If they meet the requirements they print “YES” in this column.

Column 8-12:
|
You must add your information to each of the petition forms. You must be present for each signature. You cannot, for example, leave a petition form at the local coffee shop and pick it up when it is complete. You can however, leave the petition with the owner of the local coffee shop to gather signatures and he/she must confirm and sign as the Canvasser.
