Bruce was born in 1946 in Minnedosa, MB to Ross and Muriel Hutton. He finished his education in Saskatoon, SK. and returned to Alberta in 1967. He was married for 25 years to his late wife Virginia who died of cancer in 2002. Bruce has 3 adult children, Marisa, 25 residing in Lloydminster, AB.; Ryan, 23 residing in Rocky Mountain House, AB. and Guylaine, 21 residing in Red Deer, AB. Bruce has been self employed in Alberta since the early 1970’s and moved to Rocky Mountain House in 1994 to pursue entrepreneurial interests.
In November 1998, Bruce founded the Law-abiding Unregistered Firearms Association (LUFA) to fight the Canadian Firearms Act that he believed was an infringement on the rights of law-abiding Canadian citizens. In January 1999, he warned Canadians that the firearms registration would cost them 1.5 billion dollars to implement. The firearms registry and national media suggested Hutton was out of touch, however, his prediction has since proven true.
Hutton has no political history, but during business travel and vacationing throughout our province Bruce has met many of its people and knows their views. He is disgusted with any Federal Government that would put Alberta farmers in jail for selling their own product. He is also concerned about the economic future of Alberta without major changes.
Bruce resides on an acreage south of Rocky Mountain.
